An in-depth guide to creating a magical and abundant Thanksgiving this season - based on community, ancestors and gratitude

After a tumultuous and polarizing election season, regardless of who you wanted to see take the White House, many are feeling an intensification of unsettling energies.
If the world is an apple cart, it is definitely in upset.
Remember that YOU are the most potent and authoritative power in your own life and experience. No one else. No leader, no guru, no boss, no friend.
Focus your power this month in the direction of gratitude and help us as a planet ensure that as the apple cart settles, it’s right side up. 💫

GRATITUDE RITUALS & MAGIC: TRANSFORMING YOUR THANKSGIVING INTO A MAGICAL FEAST OF ABUNDANCE (WITH TIPS FOR “MUGGLE” LOVED ONES) 🦃✨
The origins of THANKSGIVING are complex, but at its heart lies a magical truth: GRATITUDE is one of the most POTENT FORCES we can harness for manifestation and spiritual growth. This year, let's transform our Thanksgiving celebration into an intentional ritual of abundance. 🌟
In today's special Weekender Edition, we are giving you an entire menu (pun intended) of gratitude rituals, spells and simple, yet powerful, magical practices that can be incorporated into your Thanksgiving celebrations. 🦃
🍁 MUGGLE TIPS: Many of you, like me will have loved ones that aren't very comfortable with the "woo-woo" stuff. They may have beliefs that cause them to misunderstand rituals and spells.
We want to honor their beliefs just as we want them to honor ours. So, I’ve sprinkled tips throughout this guide for how to modify these rituals for your "muggle" loved ones. (Yes, SOMA loves Harry Potter!) 🪄
❗YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST! This guide will explore fresh, counter-intuitive practices to turn your Thanksgiving into a spiritual celebration filled with meaningful magic. Some of these you won't find online.

RITUALS, SPELLS, & MEANINGFUL MAGIC FOR THANKSGIVING TRADITIONS:
PREPARING THE SACRED SPACE: 🕯️ ✨ Begin by cleansing your space the morning of Thanksgiving. Rather than traditional sage, consider using dried apple peels and cinnamon (for abundance) mixed with rosemary (for remembering blessings). As you cleanse, chant: "With gratitude flowing, abundance growing, Each blessing known makes room for more, As I give thanks, abundance pours."
THE HONEY JAR REVERSAL: 🍯✨ Place a jar of local honey in the center of your table. Unlike traditional honey jar spells that focus on drawing something to you, this ritual reverses the flow. Each guest writes what they're grateful for that hasn't happened yet on a bay leaf, treating future blessings as if they're already present.
Place the leaves in the honey while saying: "As sweet as honey, as sure as stone, These blessings listed are already my own."
THE ANCESTRAL PLATE RITUAL: 🍽️ ✨Instead of just setting an extra plate for ancestors, create an ancestral gratitude altar. Each family member brings a dish that reminds them of someone who blessed their life (living or passed) and shares the story of how that person helped shape them. The first portion of each dish is given to the ancestral plate.
🍁 MUGGLE TIP: If you love the idea of this, but have loved ones that might find the word "altar" triggering, consider calling it one of the following:
🌻 Ancestor Memory Table
🪴 Family Heritage Display
🌳 Legacy Shelf
🌼 Ancestor Tribute
ANCESTRAL GRATITUDE CANDLE RITUAL - HONORING THE LIVING: 🕯️✨ ****Traditionally, candles are lit to honor ancestors, but this practice puts a fresh twist on it. Have each person light a candle for someone still living who has had a significant impact on their life. They then burn a small note of gratitude for that person, sending the energy through the smoke to strengthen the bond between them.
🍁 MUGGLE TIP: In Native American spirituality, the rising smoke is viewed as a conduit for prayers. One Cherokee blessing says: "And may that same smoke carry our prayers spiraling, to the heavens"

SEED BLESSING CEREMONY: 🌱✨ After dinner, give each person a seed to hold during shared gratitude expressions. These seeds absorb appreciation energy setting the intention for future blessings to grow alongside the plants. Afterward, plant the seeds together, or invite your guests to take them home to plant in personal "gratitude gardens".
MIRROR MAGIC ABUNDANCE AMPLIFICATION:🪞✨Create a powerful abundance vortex by placing two mirrors facing each other on your dining table, with your feast between them. This creates infinite reflections, symbolizing endless abundance. Place a gold or copper coin at the base of each mirror to anchor prosperity energy.
🍁 MUGGLE TIP: Focus on Gratitude and Mindfulness. Instead of talking about creating an abundance vortex, emphasize how mirrors can promote gratitude by reflecting the bounty on the table. You could incorporate "Mindfulness and Gratitude Practices for Abundance" by suggesting that the reflections serve as a visual reminder of the plenty we have to be thankful for.
GRATITUDE SIGIL TABLECLOTH: 🙏 ****✨ In addition to giving thanks verbally, have your guests create personal sigils. These magical symbols hold specific gratitude intentions. These can be added onto a special tablecloth used every year, accumulating power and tradition as the years pass.
CHOOSE A METHOD THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU:
🪡 EMBROIDERY: You can have them draw their sigil in advance to be embroidered later or make it part of your Thanksgiving tradition.
♻️ IRON-ON TRANSFER: You can have your guests draw their sigils on iron-on transfer paper.
🖌️ FABRIC PAINT: You can use fabric markers or paint and have people draw right on the table cloth as part of your traditions.
🍁 MUGGLE TIP: You can always refer to these as "symbols of gratitude" instead of "sigil".

⏰ TIMING YOUR MAGIC - RELEASING TO RECEIVE: 🌖 This year, Thanksgiving falls during the waning moon - perfect for releasing what no longer serves us and making room for new blessings. Consider timing your main gratitude ritual for 3:33 PM. The number 333 has spiritual significance in NUMEROLOGY and ANGEL NUMBER interpretations.
MUGGLE TIP: The number 3 is also very significant in THE BIBLE.
AUTUMN LEAVES RELEASE: 🍂✨ ****In autumn, leaves fall to make way for new growth. Use this natural cycle to your advantage with a powerful dual ritual:
🔥 REGRETS & BURDENS: First, write regrets or burdens on fallen leaves, then burn them to symbolically release them.
🍃 GRATITUDES & APPRECIATION: Afterward, write gratitudes on fresh leaves to keep, representing the blessings that remain and flourish.
🍁 MUGGLE TIP: In many ways, this could be looked at as using God or Nature's seasons as a teacher showing us how to let go of what's no longer serving us while not losing sight of the many blessings and abundance flowing through our lives.

SHADOW GRATITUDE WORK: 🌑✨ Sometimes the most meaningful growth comes from life’s challenges. In this practice, invite your guests to reflect on difficult experiences and express gratitude for the lessons they brought. By acknowledging the shadow side of gratitude, you honor how life's hardships can lead to growth and transformation.
📖 PERSONAL STORY: I have a daughter that has overcome addiction. Each year we have a dinner as a family that was originally intended to celebrate her sobriety. Now each year we use that dinner to talk about a challenge we have been facing, what we've learned from it, and how we would like support for the next year. We see this as an opportunity to normalize struggle and strip away shameful labels.
CLOSING THE CIRCLE: ⭕ End your celebration by having each person light a candle from a central flame while speaking this intention: "As this light glows, my gratitude flows, Each thank you spoken makes room for more, Until next year's blessings arrive at my door."
🍁 MUGGLE TIP: Introduce this as a "Family Unity Moment" by using a unity candle approach. It can be presented as a way to honor the connection and gratitude that was shared this holiday.
WEAVING MAGIC & GRATITUDE INTO YOUR THANKSGIVING TRADITIONS: 🦃 Remember, the most powerful magic often lies in the simplest acts. TRUE GRATITUDE - felt deeply in your heart rather than just spoken with your lips - is magic in its purest form. 🙏✨
