CEREMONIAL FASTING, MEDITATION & PRAYER DURING DAS LAKSHAN π
Das Lakshan, the βFestival of the Ten Religious Qualities,β is a ten-day Digambara Jain observance which starts at the close of the monsoon season (in early to mid September).
This allows time to create space for the new. Space in the body, space in the mind, and space to connect with the sacred.
TO ACTIVATE THIS POWER: Embrace this powerful triad - fasting, meditation, and prayer during sacred holidays you celebrate, or whenever the desire calls. π₯ π§ββοΈ π
Fasting: Purify your body and mind, creating space for deeper introspection. π₯
Meditation: Still restless thoughts, opening inner wisdom. π§ββοΈ
Prayer: Foster connection with the divine, nurturing humility and gratitude. π
Consider harmonizing these practices during the ten-day period of intense spiritual introspection next Das Lakshan, culminating in the solemn observance of forgiveness and self-examination. ποΈ
This is not a forgiveness required from a God on High. Das Lakshan celebrates that family and friends can always come together and βcome clean.β
Jains greet family, friends, and each other during this time with βMicchami Dukkadam,β an ancient Prakit phrase literally meaning βmay all the evil that has been done be fruitless.β β¨

WHAT WE CAN LEARN FROM THE SPIRITUAL AWAKENINGS OF ENLIGHTENED ONES BEFORE US β¨
Sri Aurobindo, while lesser known than other yogis like Yogananda, has most touched Amayaβs and Shelbyβs own healing and divinizing work, and relationship to the Divine.
In 1908, during his imprisonment for political activism in India, regarding occupation by Britain, he experienced a spiritual awakening that completely transformed his life.
He was a popular and well-liked activist that everyone felt would carry India toward independence. Imagine how it might have felt then to awaken to an entirely different purpose:
To help bring down an initial descent of the High Divine energies to take root in the earth plane, for the eventual awakening of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth for ALL - a True Divine Life for everyone, right here in our bodies and material plane.
TO ACTIVATE THIS POWER: Have you ever felt the stirrings of a divine awakening, but feared how it might completely re-orient you and your life toward something new? Have divine promptings felt antithetical to what you believe are your current duties and responsibilities?
If so, we recommend you read The Adventure of Consciousness (free PDF), written faithfully by a close discipleof Sri Aurobindo. π
IN DEO (GOD-WITHIN): Dive into practices that guide you deep within yourself, ultimately leading you to discover the Divine within. ποΈ
Sri Aurobindo's journey gave rise to Integral Yoga, a holistic path toward divine union. What incredible creations will you manifest through your awakening? π
